HISTORY

Optimal Electronics Corporation began as Integrated Engineering Solutions, Inc. in 1996 as a way of delivering industrial optimization solutions to manufacturers. The company performed research and development for its customers in the areas of computer-aided engineering, human factors engineering, and logistics engineering. Early successes included creating software for optimization of the assembly line for connecting rod manufacturing.

The company officially changed its name to Optimal Electronics Corporation in April 1998. Since that time it has exclusively focused research and development efforts to the unique arena of optimization and manufacturing execution systems for the printed circuit board industry.

While designing solutions for world class manufacturers such as Solectron, Rockwell Automation, National Instruments, Rockwell Collins Inc., Deere & Company, and Info-TEK Corporation, Optimal Electronics has specialized in creating a full suite of applications that work together to enhance returns on investment in plant and equipment and drive product quality. Our customers benefit from significant increases in productivity and throughput, while gaining the advantages of real time material management and component traceability.

CORPORATE MISSION

The Optimal Electronics mission is to increase the profitability of our customers by increasing their efficiency and output, while reducing the costs of their manufacturing processes. We accomplish this by controlling the essential manufacturing data and processes electronically through the use of one globally accessible database. Our users are able to control the entire manufacturing floor from their desktops. We provide our customers with a software system that is simple to use and fully integrated with existing ERP systems.

Our high mix PCB manufacturing environment benefits from Optel's powerful dynamic scheduling algorithms, coupled with its machine optimization and program generation capabilities.  Integrating Optel into our broader MES architecture helps us better balance multiple assembly lines, automatically program a variety of machines, and schedule setups instead of work orders. Schedule control and visibility is an important aspect of our strategy for cost-effective electronic assembly in North America, and Optel compliments the capabilities of our own plant-wide information applications, the FactoryTalk Production and Performance Suite.
